BSA Programs
Mark your calendars for our first general body meeting of the new school year!! Come out to White Lecture Hall on September 18th at 7:00 pm to learn about BSA and ways to get involved. 

Beginning September 8th, BSA executive board members will be holding office hours in the BSA office in OSAF located in the Bryan Center. Come see our new office, meet new executive board members, and express questions and concerns from 12:oo-1:00 pm and 3:00-4:00 pm on Mondays through Thursdays.

Thursday, September 4th
Black Male OutReach  and Education (BMORE) presents "BMORE Cognizant: Black Men's Forum" at 7:00 pm in Friedl Building Room 107 on East Campus. Learn about the keys to being successful at and getting the most out of Duke. Upperclassmen will be providing real experiences about academics and campus life at Duke  and will be answering questions from the audience.

Friday, September 5th
Official drop/add ends at 5:00 pm today. Don't forget to finalize your schedule before then!

Wednesday, September 3rd
The Iota Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. presents the "Minorities on Wall Street Workshop" beginning at 6:30 pm in Von Canon A. All students interested in finance and Wall Street are encouraged to attend this event and learn how to prepare for the internship and job search. Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wachovia Corporation will be represented at this event consisting of the following three sessions:
Session I: Former Intern Panel (6:30-7:00 pm)
Session II: Presentations from Participating Banks (7:00-8:00 pm)
Session III: Open Networking Session (8:00-8:45 pm)

Operation BigBookBag
The Omicron Nu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will be on the Bryan Center Plaza throughout the week, collecting school supplies for children in the area.

Social Events
Tuesday, September 2nd
The Iota Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. presents "Date Night with the AKAs" at 7:00 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. Invite a girl or guy friend, a crush, or a significant other for free food, delicious desserts, and a great movie to forget the stresses from the first weeks at school.

Wednesday, September 3rd
Enjoy live jazz music at Jazz at the Mary Lou at 9:30 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. Local musicians, Duke music students, and special guest artists have been brought together by John Brown, Director of the Duke Jazz Studies Program, for this event. Light hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided with the option of purchasing late night fare and drinks in the Faculty Commons provided by Sage & Swift.

Thursday, September 4th
The Omicron Nu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. presents "The Back to School Ice Cream Social" at 6:15 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. Enjoy some free ice cream while socializing with peers and learning about campus resources.

Friday, September 5th
The "Endless Summer" celebration, sponsored by Campus Council, is back!! Spend your Friday afternoon enjoying barbecue and music on Main Quad on West Campus from 4:00-8:00 pm.

The Lambda Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. presents "Dynamic Red: A Black and White Affair" from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am at G-Loft on Ninth Street.  Come celebrate the beginning of the school year with LQ.  Black and white attire preferred.

Cultural Events
"El Greco to Velazquez: Art during the Reign of Philip III"
This exhibition will be held at the Nasher Museum of Art until November 9th. This exhibit is the first to display works from El Greco and Velazquez in context with other accomplished painters of their time.

"Charles Ethan Porter: African American Still Life Artist"
This exhibition will be held in the North Carolina Central University Art Museum on Lawson Street until November 2nd. Over 50 of Porter's still life oil paintings will be on display. For more information, call 919.530.6211.

Athletics
Saturday, September 6th
Come support Duke Football as they prepare for another win against Northwestern. Festivities begin at 3:00 pm with food, music, and games on Main Quad on West Campus until 6:00 pm. Watch the Blue Devils in their second game of the season at 7:00 pm at Wallace Wade Stadium
