Dashboard Confessional with Cobalt & the Hired Guns will be playing from 8:00-10:00 pm in Page Auditorium. This band is best known for their soul-baring songs and dynamic live performances. Wednesday, April 1st
The Muslim Students Association presents Islamic Art: Calligraphy from 7:00-9:00 pm in Social Sciences 139. Learn about Islamic calligraphy and get the chance to try it out yourself.

Thursday, April 2nd
Duke Royale will take place from 9:00 pm-12:00 am in the Doris Duke Center. Celebrate Spring in style with your friends and professors. This year's theme is the 1920s with jazz, gambling, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and drinks. Cocktail attire is preferred.

Hoof 'n' Horn presents Little Shop of Horrors from 8:00-10:00 pm in Reynolds Theater in the Bryan Center.  

Friday, April 3rd
The International Association presents Springternational from 12:00-6:00 pm on the Main Quad on West Campus. This outdoor festival will feature 35+ student groups and country booths from places across the globe. Enjoy live music, free t-shirts, hookah, henna, and other activities.

Saturday, April 4th
The Native American Student Association presents their annual inter-tribal powwow from 12:00-5:00 pm on the Kilgo Quad Outdoor Lawn. Enjoy drummers and dancers from Duke University, North Carolina and other tribes from the United States.

Wednesday, March 25th: OSAF presents a Seminar on Creating a Non-Profit from 6:00-8:00 pm in Schiciano Auditorium in the Engineering Quad. Engage nonprofit experts in a collaborative discussion about the intricacies of starting a non-profit organization.
Thursday, March 26th-Saturday, March 28th: OSAF presents Duke Goes to D.C. Tickets cost $75 and will allow students to travel to Washington, D.C. to learn more about leadership in the political realm and to connect with Duke alumni working in and around the nation's government.
Friday, March 27th: OSAF presents Balancing Life and Leadership from 12:00-1:00 pm in Griffith Board Room in OSAF in the Bryan Center. In this interactive workshop, participants will be encouraged to explore strategies for maintaining health and wellness, time and energy awareness, and effective leadership roles..
OSAF is accepting applications for the Student Leadership Retreat at Beaufort. Are you a rising sophomore (class of 2012) interested in becoming a better leader? Students will explore the meaning and practice of leadership, develop personal strengths and skills, increase community among peers and apply it to their Duke experiences. Ramesh Ponnuru, senior editor for National Review and a columnist for Time, will present "A Conversation on Conservatism: Where Does the Movement Go Next?" from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Breedlove Room in Perkins Library. This talk will be discussion-based with a question and answer session as well.

Tuesday, March 24th
Sanford Institute presents a discussion by "Lost Boys Rebuilding Southern Sudan," a non-profit devoted to the Lost Boys of Sudan, from 4:00-6:30 in Fleishman Commons in Sanford. Three of the Lost Boys will speak about their organization and will show a segment of the 60 Minutes broadcast about the Lost Boys of Sudan.

The Baldwin Scholars present Mariane Pearl at 7:00 pm in Page Auditorium. Mariane Pearl is the wido of Danny Pearl, a journalist with the Wall Street Journal who was killed by terrorists. Pearl will relay a message of courage as a tribute to her husband's life and the values and ideals that they shared.

An information session regarding Fuqua's new Master of Management Studies program will be held at 7:00 pm in the Davis Meeting Room in the Fuqua School of Business.

The Global Health Forum presents a Global Health Week Careers Panel from 6:30-7:30 pm in Social Sciences 113. This event will discuss career options for those individuals interested in pursuing global health after graduation.

Senior Photos
This week will be the LAST CHANCE for seniors to have their pictures taken to be included in the 2009 edition of Chanticleer, Duke University's yearbook. You will be able to have your picture taken from 12:00-8:00 pm in the Bryan Center in between the Post Office and McDonalds. Make sure to wear nice clothes for your portrait.

Find Your Weight Out - A Non-Diet Approach to Weight Management
This 4 week class, run by Student Health Dietitians, will take place on Thursdays from Thursday, March 26th-Thursday, April 16th in The Oasis in Bell Tower on East Campus. The class will teach you how to balance your meals and minimize food cravings, respond to hunger without over-doing it, and managing the emotions that can lead to overeating. Thursday, March 26th: DukeAFRICA will be hosting a free dinner at 7:00 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center.
Friday, March 27th: DukeAFRICA will be hosting a movie night at 7:00 pm in McClendon 2nd Floor Media Room.
Saturday, March 28th: Duke AFRICA will be hosting JABULANI: Heritage Redefined at 7:00 pm in Page Auditorium. Jabulani is DukeAFRICA's annual cultural show. This year will showcase African dance, drumming, fashion and arts. There will also be acts from schools across North Carolina as well as Duke's own Precision Step Team and Djembe Drumming Ensemble as well as a special spoken word performance by Shannon Nelson. Make sure to enjoy this showcase of art from Africa and the African Diaspora.

Doubt
Freewater Presentations presents "Doubt" on Thursday, March 26th from 9:30-11:30 pm and Friday, March 27th at 7:00 pm and from 9:30-11:30 pm. This movie tells the story of a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student.

Friday, March 27th
Small Town Records presents Small Town Records Release Party from 9:00 pm-1:00 am at Alivia's, 1013 Main, and Mt. Fuji. No cover all night with music from Duke students and local performers. 

The United Pan-African Student Movement at North Carolina Central University presents Rebel Youth at 5:30 pm in the Eagle Landing 1st Floor Conference Room at 408 Brant Street. This is an official call to action to youth and students interested in the liberation and unification of African peoples both nationally and internationally. Mi Gente presents Mezcla 2009: Across the Universe from 8:00-10:00 pm in Baldwin Auditorium. Join Mi Gente in this multicultural showcase featuring a large variety of popular student performances and other guest acts in a celebration of the wide scope of talent, creativity, and individuality of Duke students. This year's theme will incorporate special visual effects and take you on a trip around the world and across the universe.

"The Changing Tide: Black Leadership in America" with CNN Correspondent Donna Brazile
The Black Student Alliance, the Black Student Movement at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Black Student Board at NC State present a discussion with Donna Brazile from 7:00-8:30 pm at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Student Union: Great Hall on UNC-Chapel Hill's campus. Ms. Brazile will talk about contemporary black leaders and the future of leadership landscape for a generation of Blacks coming of age in an increasingly more racially progressive world. Tuesday, March 17th
Learn about the Rhodes Scholarship through a Rhodes Scholar who graduated at Duke. These office hours will take place from 3:00-5:00 pm at Smith Warehouse.

The Office of Undergraduate Scholars and Fellows presents a Post-Graduate Scholarship Information Session from 6:00-7:00 pm in Old Chem 116. Learn about the Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Mitchell, Churchill, Lucen, and Boren Scholarships and how to apply.  

The Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) will be having a general body meeting from 8:00-9:00 pm in 
White Lecture Hall. Candidate speeches and elections will take place at this meeting.
 
A screening of "The Trials of Darryl Hunt" will play at 8:00 pm in Griffith Film Theater in the Bryan Center. The documentary tells the story of a brutal rape and murder case and a wrongly convicted man, Darryl Hunt, who spent nearly twenty years in prison for a crime he did not commit. The film one the 2006 Audience Award at the Full Frame Festival.

Thursday, March 19th
The Women's Center presents 3rd 3rsday from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Women's Center. This event will commemorate Women's History Month through an exploration of women's reproductive rights. Information will be available about contraceptive options and reproductive health history. Snacks will be provided.

Friday, March 20th
Author Paule Marshall will be signing copies of her new memoir, Triangular Road, at 7:00 pm at The Regulator Bookshop on Ninth Street. Her memoir tells the story of a young black woman coming of age as a novelist in a literary world dominated by white men.

The Career Center presents a Junior Jumpstart Senior Panel from 7:00-8:00 pm in Flowers 201. The panel comprised of seniors will discuss their job search and offer valuable advice on the process.

The Career Center will have a Job Search Lab from 5:00-7:00 pm in Flowers 201. This is an opportunity for students to receive support as they continue to search for jobs.

Saturday, March 21st
WISER and East Campus Council presents "Kick It for Kenya" from 1:00-3:00 pm on the East Campus Main Quad. There will be a 5 on 5 soccer tournament for freshmen, using makeshift soccer balls similar to those used by Kenyans. If any freshman is interested in participating, please contact your house council representative. All proceeds will go towards WISER.

Sunday, March 22nd
Alpha Delta Pi presents their bi-yearly Waffle Breakfast from 11:00 am-2:00 pm on West Campus Quad. Enjoy all you can eat waffles for $5 with proceeds benefitting the Ronald McDonald House.

The Omega Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated presents "Omega Prom: A Purple Carpet Affair" at 7:00 pm in the R. David Thomas Executive Center on Science Drive. Tickets for the charity ball cost $37.50 each and can be purchased on the BC Plaza or online at http://dukecard.duke.edu/omega. An after party will follow the ball from 11:00 pm-2:00 am at George's Garage.

Slumdog Millionaire will be playing on Thursday, March 19th and on Friday, March 20th from 7:00-9:00 pm and from 9:30-11:30 pm in Griffith Theater in the Bryan Center.

Tuesday, March 17th
The Center for Race Relations (CRR) presents "The 'F' Word: A CRR Dialogue on Feminism" from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Multicultural Center. They will talk about Feminist Front activities (bridge painting and defamation, etc.) that have happened recently and about the subject of feminism in general. Free food will be served at this event.

Friday, March 20th
The Shabach Music Explosion will take place from 5:00-9:00 pm on the BC Plaza. There will be performances from a wide variety of Christian performers including NC State Gospel Choir, UNCG Gospel Choir, Justin Tenseniar Band, Harbor View, Deacon Authority, Richard Bowman, Chosen, Saaphire, Something Borrowed Something Blue, Deidre Watson and United in Praise Gospel Choir. There will be music and free food.

Lady Blue, an all-female acapella group, will have their Spring Concert from 8:00-10:00 pm in White Lecture Hall.

Donna Brazile Event
On Thursday, March 19th BSA, in conjunction with the Black Student Movement at UNC Chapel Hill and the Black Student Board at NC State, will present a talk and discussion with Donna Brazile at UNC.  Brazile is a CNN correspondent and best known for being the first African American to chair a presidential candidate's campaign when heading up Al Gore's 2000 campaign. Capital One Summit for Developing Leaders
Capital One is seeking students to participate in their 2nd Annual Summit for Developing Leaders. This week-long program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop analytical and problem-solving skills.  All application materials should be sent electronically to kira.peterson@capitalone.com. The MLT Career Preparation Program is a 12-week comprehensive experience to prepare students for a fast-track entry-level jobs.
