BSA Announcements
March 19-21, UN International Day for the Elmination of Racial Discrimination. Ever make generalizations about groups of people because of their race or ethnicity? Do you laugh at jokes based on racial identity and/or stereotypes? It isn't funny. Join us on the Plaza to take a Stand Against Racial Discrimination. Pick up your free "Say No to Racism" Button and information about contemporary racial discrimination. Be sure to wear RED with the BUTTONS on Friday, March 21, to show that we stand against all forms of racial discrimination.

Campus Announcements
Applications for the University and Cultural Funds are now being accepted for 08-09 school year programs. $200, 000 will be available for any undergraduate student organizations with an OSAF fund code. To qualify for funding, a member of the organization must attend a mandatory information meeting. Multiple members of the organization are encouraged to attend so knowledge of this and other funding processes are not limited to a single person. The first information seesion will be Monday, March 24th at 3:00 pm in the Multicultural Center. The funding application and detailed information is found online at

On the Reel: Culture and Politics of Soul Film Series presents "Baadasssssss" at 7:30 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. This series is being held in collaboration with AAAS199 - The Culture and Politics of Soul Music taught by Dr. Mark Anthony Neal. This film series examines Soul, not simply as a musical genre, but as a cultural phenomenon within America from the late 1950s until the beginning of the late 1980s.

Art Opening at the John Hope Franklin Center at 5:30 pm in the John Hope Franklin Center New Media Space. Through a series of works exploring the life and legacy of Dr. John Hope Franklin, Stacy-Lynn Waddell employs the transformative media of heat and fire in an attempt to articulate the complexities and realities of a life lived in service and in search of the American Dream. This art gallery is sponsored by the John Hope Franklin Center for Interdisciplinary and International Studies.

Taking Care of Ourselves, Taking Care of Our Bodies at 6:30 pm in the Multicultural Center. Join other women & learn practical approaches to feeling more comfortable in your own skin here at Duke.
