Did you know there is a 3 year doctorate program for physical therapy at Duke within the school of medicine? It is the Duke University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. Duke DPT has a student run group known as the Diversity Task Force a group of students within the DPT program interested in raising awareness about the profession of physical therapy among undergraduate students. This interest stems from a genuine concern for the under-representation of minorities within a profession that serves a significant minority population. An open-house will be held on April 6 from 6:00-8:00pm in Wing A, Suite 210 of the Erwin Square Building at 2200 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27705. Parking is available in the parking deck located adjacent to the building on the top floor. Student escorts will direct you within the parking deck and to the department. Please RSVP to lauren.gonzalez@duke.edu if you would like to attend. The invitation is open to ALL students interested.

The Career Center is sponsoring Senior Etiquette & Wine Tasting Dinner. This event is an opportunity to really broaden you education! Learn proper etiquette for a business dinner. Learn why you should never choose Cornish Game Hen or cherry tomatoes from the menu during a business meal. And learn when to choose merlot over cabernet. The event is open only to seniors. The Career Center is sponsoring Junior Career Series: Interviewing Skills for Internship Prep from 6:00-7:00pm, location TBD. More and more employers intend to do their post-graduation hiring from their intern pool. Polish your interview skills in preparation for your internship search. Learn how to sell yourself to employers and how to stand out in the crowd. This workshop is designed for Juniors, but all students are welcome to attend!

Mock Interview Day for Seniors, Junior, Sophomores, & Grad students will be held from 9:00am-4:00pm in Smith Warehouse, Bay 5. Students will practice and receive feedback on interview skills. Interviews will be behavioral and each student will walk away with valuable feedback to prepare for recruiting season. Beginning Wednesday, January 20 at midnight, students may schedule a mock interview via Duke eRecruiting (http://duke.experience.com)--search "Duke University Career Center Mock Interviews" as the Employer and sign up for a slot. The deadline for sign-ups is Monday, January 25th.

For students interested in getting information about off-campus rentals in the Durham area, Duke Community Housing and Student Affairs will hold an off-campus housing fair from 11:00-2:00PM in Bryan Center Schaefer Mall. Meet representatives from apartment complexes, property management firms, and the City of Durham. For updates on this event become a Duke Community Housing Facebook fan.

OSAF is sponsoring the Spring Student Activities Fair in Bryan Center Schaefer Mall from 11:00am-2:00pm. Over 80 student organizations will be on hand to recruit and share information about upcoming events. Andrea Gibson, spoken word artist, will be performing at 9:00pm at East Campus Coffeehouse. "A powerful live performer, Gibson was the winner of the 2008 Women of the World Poetry Slam (Detroit), and has placed 3rd in the world for the last 3 years by the iWPS. She won a DIY Poetry Book of the Year and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for her first book, ""Pole Dancing to Gospel Hymns."" She has been showcased on Free Speech TV, the documentary Slam Planet, NPR, Air America and Independent Radio Stations nationwide. Come join the Lambda Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for the much anticipated and well-attended elegant evening of entertainment, dinner, and dancing that supports the arts in the Duke and Durham communities. The upcoming annual charity ball, “Rhapsody in Red: The Legacy of Lagos,” will focus on promoting and highlighting the rich cultural traditions of Lagos, Nigeria. Through authentic music, ambiance, and cuisine, you will truly feel like you have stepped beyond the borders of Duke University and into a different culture. All proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. Rhapsody in Red will be at the Washington Duke Inn at 7pm. Tickets will be sold on the BC Plaza and at the Marketplace. The cost to attend this elegant event will be $42 on FLEX or food points or $40 in cash. CAPS is sponsoring Procrastination and Perfectionism: How to make them both work FOR you! This is a 3 week workshop offered on Tuesdays, starting January 26 at 6:00pm in Page 217. It will help you understand how procrastination and perfectionism are often 2 sides of the same coin. Are you an emotional eater, a chronic dieter, or are you just plain confused about what to eat? Want to learn about nutrition in a supportive group environment? Find Your Weigh Out - A Non-Diet Approach to Weight Management This 4 week class, run by Student Health Dietitians, will teach you how to balance your meals and minimize food cravings, respond to hunger without over-doing it, and manage emotions that can lead to overeating. Meetings will be held Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm February 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. All sessions are held at The Duke Student Health Center (Conference Room). Please bring a snack. Registration is free!
