BSA Programs
BSA Elections 2009
BSA will be hosting a variety of events throughout the month of January in preparation for the election of 2009-2010 executive board members. These events will provide many opportunities for people to become active members and be eligible to participate in the election process. Our first event will be our fourth general body meeting on January 21st. This will be your opportunity to learn more about the election process and what to do if you would like to run for an elected position.

January is full of information sessions so make sure to make an appointment with the Career Center

Multicultural Resume Book
The Career Center is preparing the Multicultural Resume Book to be distributed at the Diversity Networking Dinner. Resumes can be submitted through eRecruiting. The submission deadline for this resume book is on January 14th. If you need help with your resume, visit the Career Center during drop-in hours or make an appointment.

Thursday, January 8th
The Career Center presents Internship Season Kickoff at 5:00 pm in the Von Canon Rooms in the Bryan Center. Hear about internships from a student panel and participate in fun and informative presentations by Career Center specialists.

Black Wall Street will take place at 7:00 pm at the Hayti Cultural Center. Learn about different businesses, non-profit organizations and other groups in the Durham area. Local dancers, singers and spoken word artists will also be performing throughout the night. Tickets are $5 at the door. Register at www.drakefordassociate.org. Formal attire is suggested.

Community Service Events
Annual Duke SNMA MLK Banquet Registration Deadline
The Duke Student National Medical Association presents their annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Friday, January 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Durham Hilton. This year's theme is "The Ultimate Measure: Our Influence, Our Success." The keynote speaker is Mr. Ron Claiborne, ABC News anchor, Good Morning America Weekend Edition. Attire is formal and donations are greatly appreciated. Student/Resident admission is $10 and general admission is $30. RSVP BY JANUARY 7TH TO DUKE SNMA at dukesom_snma@yahoo.com with your meal choice (chicken or vegetarian).

Cultural Events
A Room of Their Own: The Bloomsbury Artists in American Collections
This exhibition can be seen at the Nasher Museum of Art and will be displayed until April 5th. This collection includes 200 paintings, works on paper, decorative arts and book arts borrowed from public and private collections throughout the United States and Canada and will focus on how this small group of artists made its imprint on the cultural thinking of their day.

Duke Men's Basketball plays Davidson at 7:00 pm in Cameron Indoor.

Friday, January 9th
Duke Women's Basketball plays Miami at 7:00 pm in Cameron Indoor.

Saturday, January 10th
Duke Men's Basketball plays Florida State at Florida State.
