BSA Candidate's Forum
Learn about BSA 2009-2010 Executive Committee Candidates at the Candidate's Forum on Monday, February 9th from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. This will be your chance to learn about each candidate's platform in order to make an informed decision during elections.

Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity is having an information meeting at 6:30 pm in Social Sciences 127.  Eligible applicants are freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with a 3.0 or above. Phi Sigma Pi is a national co-ed honor fraternity seeking friendly, well-rounded students interested in making an impact on campus. The Career Center presents Internship Search Workshop for Engineers from 7:30-8:30 pm in Schiciano Auditorium in FCIEMAS. Get information about resources and strategies for your internship search through eRecruiting, networking and online resources.

Wednesday, February 4th
The Career Center presents Internship Funding Program 2009 Information Session from 12:30-1:30 pm in the Career Center. Learn how to receive grants for low-paying or non-paying internships this summer. Contact Leslie Alabi (leslie.alabi@duke.edu) if you are unable to attend this event.

Thursday, February 5th
The Career Center presents Internship Search & Follow-Up Workshop for Sophomores and Juniors from 5:00-6:00 pm in Social Sciences 311. Students will learn how to use eRecruiting and other resources available for finding summer internships and experiences.

The Career Center presents Internship Search  & Follow-Up Workshop for First-Years from 5:00-6:00 pm in Friedl 204. Learn more about practical ways to discover summer opportunities and internships related to your particular interests and skills.

Saturday, February 7th
Duke China Care presents Duke China Care's 2nd Annual International Adoption Night: Red Threads from 6:00-8:30 pm in Von Canon in the Bryan Center. Support a great cause and broaden your awareness of international adoption while enjoying a buffet-style dinner, cultural performances, and a silent auction. The keynote speaker will be Cindy (Chamnella) Koenigsknecht, author of "The Waiting Child: How the Faith and Love of One Orphan Saved the Life of Another."

Yearbook Senior Portraits
Seniors who would like to appear in the 2009 yearbook , The Chanticleer, must attend a senior portrait session. Men should wear a jacket and tie and women should wear an appropriate blouse or sweater. Portraits will be taken from 12:00-8:00 pm from Monday, February 2nd t0 Friday, February 6th in between the Post Office and McDonalds in the Bryan Center. Students can also pick up free yearbooks for past years.

Monday, February 2nd
The Spring Student Activities Fair will take place from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Bryan Center Schaefer Mall. Learn about the variety of campus organizations.

Wednesday, February 4th
Enjoy late night jazz and snacks at Jazz at the Mary Lou from 9:30 pm-12:30 am in the Mary Lou Williams Center.

Thursday, February 5th
The Iota Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. presents "Black Is...Black Ain't" at 6:00 pm in the Mary Lou Williams Center. In celebration of Black History Month, Iota Mu will hold a viewing and discussion of "Black Is...Black Ain't," an awesome film about challenging our narrowing definitions of black identity.

Cultural Events
Wednesday, February 4th
The Multicultural Center presents "Expression, Identity, Finding Your Voice: A Workshop with Dancer, Choreographer, Community Activist Leonard Cruz" from 5:00-7:00 pm in Von Canon A. Cruz will lead participants through movement, storytelling, journaling and theatre exercises to examine the storyline of their lives.

Friday, February 6th
The Center for Race Relations presents Common Ground. Applications are due 5:00 pm and can be found at http://www.duke.edu/web/racerelations/retreats/application/. Looking for a space to discuss the dynamics of race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and other identity factors at Duke and beyond? Common Ground is the place for you! This is a time of great personal reflection, sustained dialogues, community building, and one of Duke's most promising experiences for undergrads. This year's retreat will take place February 19th-February 22nd at Camp Caraway in Sophia, NC and is free for all participants.
